Commercial buildings face a different storm equation than homes. Ground-floor storefronts, window wall, and large spans of vision glass are exactly where wind-driven debris does the most damage — and where Florida's code is most demanding. We help Orlando businesses replace vulnerable glazing with engineered, commercial-grade aluminum impact window systems that protect people, inventory, and continuity of operations.
We serve retail and storefronts, offices, restaurants, medical and institutional buildings, and condo, HOA, and multi-family properties across the Orlando metro. Each window system pairs Florida Building Code compliance and large-missile storm protection with the day-to-day payoff of lower HVAC load, reduced noise, and harder building security — engineered to your design pressures and delivered by a licensed General Contractor, not a call center.
Request My AssessmentFrom a single retail storefront to a full condo tower re-glaze, we match the right impact-rated window system to your building, occupancy, and budget.
Impact-rated aluminum storefront window systems that keep your ground-floor glass clear, code-compliant, and shutter-free — protecting inventory and keeping you open through hurricane season.
Window wall, punched openings, and curtainwall infill engineered to your building's design pressures — improving tenant safety, energy performance, and acoustic comfort across multi-story office space.
Phased, building-wide impact window replacement with board-ready documentation, occupied-unit logistics, and the mid- and high-rise design-pressure ratings associations need for a reserve-funded project.
Impact storefront windows and patio enclosures for restaurants, bars, and hotels — protecting open, glass-forward dining and lobby spaces without sacrificing the views guests come for.
Hardened, code-compliant window glazing for clinics, medical offices, schools, and institutional buildings — where continuity of operations, occupant protection, and inspection documentation are non-negotiable.
If your property has commercial window glazing exposed to Florida wind loads, we can spec it. Call (689) 219-5507 and we'll assess it on site.
Call (689) 219-5507Commercial impact glazing in Florida lives or dies on documentation. Every window system we install is selected for your building's design pressure, height, and exposure — and backed by current product approvals for permitting. Here's the framework we build to.
American Impact Windows and Doors Orlando is a division of American Impact & Energy LLC, a Florida-licensed General Contractor (CGC1540149). We're built to handle the parts of a commercial window job that trip up a glass-only installer — the submittals, the permitting, and the coordination.
CGC1540149 — insured, bonded, and BBB A- Rating. You're working with a contractor who can pull the permit and own the result, not just hang glass.
We handle plan review, pull the commercial permit, and carry the project through final inspection — with product-approval packages assembled for the jurisdiction.
We work as a fenestration sub on GC-led jobs — coordinating schedule, staging, and inspections — or directly for owners and managers, whichever your project needs.
Shop drawings, product data, DP calculations, and finish samples — the submittal package your architect or engineer of record needs to approve the window system.
Phased installs, after-hours and weekend scheduling, and occupied-space logistics — so tenants, customers, and residents are affected as little as possible while the work gets done.
Our office is on S Semoran Blvd in Orlando. Site visits, punch items, and warranty follow-up are genuinely local — not routed through another market.
A commercial window project has more moving parts than a home — code path, design pressures, fabrication lead time, and occupied-space logistics. We manage all of it, on one schedule.
We walk your building, measure each opening, confirm the code path and required design pressures, and return a clear, line-item project proposal — no pressure.
We spec a system approved for your DP and impact ratings, then prepare shop drawings, product-approval data, and DP calculations for your architect or engineer of record.
We pull the commercial permit and order your impact window units custom-built to each opening — fabrication lead time, not field labor, usually sets the schedule.
Our licensed crew installs in phases — after hours where needed — to keep you operating, then passes final inspection and closes out the documentation.
No pressure and no obligation. We'll walk your building, identify the window openings that need impact protection, confirm the code path and design pressures, and return a clear, line-item project quote — with the product-approval data your team needs to move forward.
In Orlando and across Central Florida, new and replacement glazing in commercial buildings must resist the wind loads and wind-borne debris the Florida Building Code prescribes for the building's height, zone, and exposure. In most of our service area that is satisfied either with impact-rated (laminated) glass or with an approved opening-protection system such as shutters. Impact windows meet the requirement without anything to deploy before a storm, which is why many owners choose them. At your free assessment we confirm the exact code path your jurisdiction and building require, then spec a compliant system. Call (689) 219-5507.
Usually, yes. We plan most commercial window projects to keep your business operating — phasing the work elevation by elevation or floor by floor, sequencing openings so customer-facing areas stay usable, and scheduling noisy or disruptive steps for after hours, early mornings, or weekends. For occupied offices, retail, and multi-family buildings we coordinate staging, dust control, and access so daily operations and residents are affected as little as possible. We'll map the phasing with you before work begins so there are no surprises.
It depends on your building. Each opening is assigned a positive and negative design-pressure (DP) value based on the building's height, wind zone, and exposure category per ASCE 7, and the window system must be approved to meet or exceed those numbers. In wind-borne debris regions the glazing must also pass large-missile impact and cyclic-pressure testing — TAS 201/202/203 or ASTM E1886/E1996 — documented by a current Florida Product Approval or Miami-Dade NOA. We select systems whose approvals cover your required DP and impact rating, and supply that documentation for plan review.
Yes. As a Florida-licensed General Contractor (CGC1540149), we manage the commercial permitting process end to end — assembling the product-approval and design-pressure documentation for plan review, pulling the permit, installing to the approved details, and carrying the project through final inspection. On larger or GC-led jobs we provide submittals and shop drawings for your architect or engineer of record and coordinate inspections with your team. You get a code-compliant, fully documented installation, not just new glass.
